Teenage Truth

Get up early, go to school
People tell you you’re not cool
Kids start rumors, teachers yell
Teenage life is living hell

Old friends shun you, new friends lie
Friends of yours just want to die
Parents make you quit the team
Teachers make you want to scream

People say these are the best years
But I’m sick of all their lies
School hallways are filled with tears,
Sad girls, misunderstood guys
Things might get better, I’m not sure
How much more can we endure?

Smoking, drinking, friends use weed
Hateful kids engulfed by greed
Dropping grades and constant fights
Hectic days and sleepless nights

People say these are the best years
But I’m sick of all their lies
School hallways are filled with tears,
Sad girls, misunderstood guys
Things might get better, I’m not sure
How much more can we endure?

Angry kids hope future’s near
That day will end all their fear
Dreams are set and hopes are high
As we give teenage years a try

People say these are the best years
But I’m sick of all their lies
School hallways are filled with tears,
Sad girls, misunderstood guys
Things might get better, I’m not sure
How much more can we endure?

Step by step we will get through
If you’ll help me, I’ll help you
Things might get better, I’m not sure
How much more can we endure?
